The Field of Hope

A magnificent field at Ardross Farm in Scotland that is almost 4 acres in size has been planted with over 100,000 sunflowers!

The sunflowers in this breathtaking field are arranged to read the word, “HOPE,” which was an idea by Reverend Douglas Creighton from East Neuk Trinity Church. Creighton’s goal was to spread positivity and joy during the pandemic.

With the help of farmer Claire Pollock, over 100,000 sunflowers were planted at the start of May and came into bloom about 5 months later.

A month ago, when the sunflower field opened, there were about 500 visitors who walked through the 20-minute maze. The field raised over $2,000 for local charities in the first two days of being open.

The Field of Hope has its name for a reason. Still going strong after a month of being open, the maze continues to bring optimism to the community and raise plenty of funds for local charities!
